My new zip code!  To those not in the New York know, this means I will live on the Upper West Side.  It's the way upper west side but it is still between Riverside park and Central Park and I am very happy.  It's my own little piece of Manhattan crap(not renovated and oozing with NYC character)   Also it's my first Walk-up though I am on the second floor so that's not bad.   On Oct 1st I will move into my favorite zipcode.  10025 is my 90210.

I've been on a roller coaster of emotions since opening my mailbox yesterday at 530pm. I was with a friend and I received my notice of "get out of your apartment because we are going to renovate and make double than what you can pay". First came sadness then utter depression. When I reached the"let's look on craigslist to get more depressed" phase something wonderful happened. I found another apt close by with a open-house happening in 30 minutes. Thanks to the electronic age I managed to print out the important documents and we were on our way. To get an appreciation for the struggle of NyC apt hunting head over to craigslist , search for two bedrooms and you'll see what I am up against.    So I found a great place, in an even better location.  My credit is not great , but I make the minimum pay.  So I wait for an answer.   And wait.   My dear friend beginnings_endcame out from Queens to cheer me up.  We ran in Central Park and then headed to Society Cafe for good food and two glasses of wine.  I need the wine tonight to sleep.

When face with a problem or choice I tend to play the flowchart in my head.  Remember flowcharts? In medicine we call them algorithms.  The flowchart loops over and over in my head working out each possible permutation and outcome, hence the wine and the tequila shot i topped it out with.  Ugg I hate my insomnia.  In my mid to late twenties I'd play Apollo 13, Back to the Future, and Forest Gump at night just to fall asleep.  I know the movies so well my brain says the dialogue and stops flowcharting.  Hmm maybe tonight after i listen to Al, I slip in the Back to the Future.  Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd will lull me to blissful slumber.  Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll get good news.

Yea I wrote another blog entry. My hiatus was due to many factors: my parents retired and to commererate the event I made an ambitious travel scrapbook. It involved using illustrator and photoshop and took two weeks. Then I went to visit them for a week, and then I worked my rear off for a while. So I am back and trying to write everyday.

Oddly off Center

Today a friend woke me and we chatted, then I went to clean the kitchen. My fastidious friend has that effect on me. I also have been working up my comedy routine. It's not that I want to be a stand-up comic, I just need something to get me out of my comfort zone and I need to get my ass on stage.

I am torn between taking a class at $400 for six weeks or just getting up and doing a ten minute spot at a local club. I also want to take a class in humor writing. Every time I take a class I write a lot and then I stall. I have so many unfinished and unedited pieces. What to do!

On the up side, I've been working out every day and exercising and have lost 20 pounds. My dog is healthy and happy, so life is good.

I used to be organicactor. Organic meaning both the food choices and my acting methodology. I was never involved in fandom or any kind of on-line communities. In fact, I thought Fandom was just Star Wars and Star Trek. Then iamthedirtgirl made me join the Browncoats website so she could rack up more points. "Sure, just do it and I'll accept the email." I said. I didn't even know what a browncoat was. She named me ShinyStarlet and two months before the Serenity movie came out she demanded I buy the DVD of Firefly and see the Big Dam Movie when it came out. I remember when I realized what the Shiny meant. I was so touched by Joss Whedon's use of the word in the show that I welled up. She thinks I'm a shiny actor Awww! I love the name because it represented the way my best friend sees me. It is my internet identity.

I would like to invite my flist over to my blogspot. I've been working hard to keep it updated regularly. It has become a great outlet for me and my writing. On another note my dear friend iamthedirtgirl and I took a trip to Fort Worth, Texas to see Jensen Ackles in A Few Good Men with Lou Diamond Phillips at the Casa Manana theatre. We made a funny video while hanging in the parking garage which turned into a bigger video because my friend got to meet Jensen Ackles!

I know most of you can't stand it but I love the CHIMMY,  Go Chimmy,!!!!! Though I have a feeling there bliss in this eppy will be short lived as all happy couples in tv shows tend to break-up.

I am very new to HTML and this seems like a simple question so I thought I'd post here and see if my friends could help, since they are amazing at this stuff and they all have fabulous pages, (shameless flattery will get you some things).

I am trying to make a two line space for  a blog entry.  Blogspot does WYSIWYG or HTML and I can't seem to get it to space down or go to a new line on some things.

Also I would like to change the text in a particular box.  Anyone have any ideas.  Thanks

Oddly off Center

Ok so I love Weird Al Yankovic and last night while trying to drum up business for my new blog I went to Myspace opened a simple acct and made some friends like DeKnight(now that he's off SV I want to keep up with him) I honestly did not like all the shipper wars going on there. Then I went to Weird Al's site and made the request. Then I noticed he had presale info for his "Straight out of Lynwood" tour. I did what I was suppose to and in 10 minutes I had two fourth-row center seats for Jun 1 at the Palace Theatre in Albany. I have no one to take just yet but I'm sure I'll find someone. Anyone in NY want to go?

Oh the Horrors!  My computer died two days ago while I was in the middle of writing my first fic which was inspired by the TwoP thread, 101 ways for Clark to realize he loves Chloe.   My scenario had to do with Chloe getting captured by Lex and tortured for the secret.  Since it was relatively new it had not been backed up to the flash drive and alas, now it is gone.   Also irretrievable are my growing collection of Chloe, Clark , and Shelby caps done by me for use in my comedy manips as well as my London and Amsterdam photos(the best ones were already sent to photobucket), a few original essays in progress and about a hundred pics of my dog in various states of action and cuteness.  A quick trip to my local MacGenius at the maybe? famous Fifth Avenue Mac store and my computer had a brand new hard drive installed overnight( I love NYC! and active warranties). Now I am a fan of newness and enjoy that "factory installed feeling" but this time was harder for me.  About a week before the crash I had spent a good chunk of my time organizing my computer's files because my Smallville obsession led to a very cluttered desktop.  All is well again and I now seek to rebuild the shattered pieces of my digital life.  What a drama queen!  The lesson in all of this is I need a secondary Hard Drive, not a flash(too small) but a big honking 100GB hard drive that will live on my shelf above the chaos and dog hair of my room.  Then I will have two copies of all my Smallvilles, Supernaturals, and Caps.  I am also going to by a .MAC account so I can get my documents sucked into cyberspace the moment I create them.   Ah well shit happens.

One of my favorite episodes of SV is Mortal, I loved the scenes with Clark and Chloe in the factory but the funniest pics came from the scene where Lana, Martha, and Jonathan were held hostage by the electricity boys.
Did my taxes today, yuck, I think I have bought at least one tank for our boys overseas and my dog escaped. I think my roommate left the door wide open when he left for school and eventually even a dog as loyal as my Sebastian will take advantage and roam. Somehow he ended up in the elevator and a very nice couple on the sixth floor found him and called me. Thank goodness for the tag on his collar and in a twist of something (not irony but maybe kismet, or maybe just coincidence) I-in the process of cleaning my room and organizing every scrap of paper-found the contact info for the microchip/dog locator company and realized I had not updated since my move from Asheville to NYC. I sent the email with the new info yesterday. Thankfully Sebastian's adventure did not reach the bustling Harlem/Crack block I live on. I cannot imagine the state I would be in if I had come home to a wide open door and no dog. Shudder.

In all my adult life I have never really been into porn, be it video or a smutty romance novel like the ones my best friend reads. Danielle Steele novels perpetually live on my Mother's nightstand;I'll pick them up but the ravishing of a young maid stir not the feelings in my nether parts.
During my late teen years I held a very unusual job which required me to spend overnights in a hotel room in far-off exotic places like Sacramento. The heavy breathing and hard pumping on Skin-e-max dried me up and made me laugh.
Then one day somewhere in season three of Smallville I become neurotically obsessed with this snipey blond reporter who pines for my hero. I've said in posts on TwoP that I am a Chloe and I too pine for her: episode after episode.
Then during the summer hiatus I have already mentioned I hook myself into fan fiction. I love all types of stories, though Chloe centered stories are my favorite, and I must admit I really enjoy the hot, steamy sexy ones.
Why does a woman whose never got off on a Harlequin or soft core video get off on Chloe and Clark doing the nasty, in print, no less. Maybe it's projecting: if she gets the guy of her dreams one day I will too; if she gets laid well one day I will too; and if she gets to feel pure love one day I will too.

I mentioned before that I don't really write fic, yet I still contribute to the creative world of Fandom by creating comedy screencaps or manips. I have about 15 made which I post to K-site and I thought I would post some here for the enjoyment of Smallville fans.Of course I own nothing except the wit. Enjoy!
